4-star EDGE Jesse Harrold commits to Florida State
Tampa Gaither four-star EDGE Jesse Harrold has committed to Florida State.
The decision comes on the heel of his decommitment from LSU, where he had been committed to the Tigers since June 22.
He took an official visit to Tallahassee last weekend and that had an impact on his decision.
“My official visit to FSU was great,” Harrold told On3. “The vibe was like a family environment and everyone in the building is supportive.”
He left that visit unsure if he would sign or not this week. Harrold thought about it. Louisville made a run at him. There was talk about Michigan getting involved if he waited until February to sign, but after talking it over, he decided he wanted to be a Seminole.
“The recruiting process was extremely tough. There were a lot of schools to pick from and you can only go to one, so it was tough.

“Florida State is the one for me though. I chose Florida State because of the development, being able to stay close to home and the coaches of seeing the field early.”
Harrold is the nation’s No. 144 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 19 edge rusher in the class and the No. 23 recruit from the state of Florida.
