4-star EDGE London Merritt decommits from Ohio State, trending to Colorado

Four-star IMG Academy EDGE London Merritt has decommitted from Ohio State, he announced on Tuesday.
He had previously been committed to the Buckeyes since March, when he chose them over North Carolina, Alabama and others.
“After much careful consideration, I have decided to respectfully decommit from The Ohio State University,” he tweeted on Tuesday morning. “This was not an easy decision, as I have immense respect for Coach Ryan Day, Coach Johnson and the coaching staff. I want to express my sincere gratitude for the time, support, and belief you have shown in me throughout the recruiting process. The Ohio State University is an outstanding institution, and I will always appreciate the opportunity to have been a part of such a prestigious program.”

The 6-foot-2, 255-pounder is the No. 260 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Shortly after Merritt’s decommitment, On3’s Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for him to commit to Colorado, where he visited earlier this month.
This is a developing story.
