Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star EDGE Zachariah Keith has decommitted from Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-5, 241-pound junior committed to the Yellow Jackets in June, but the No. 94 ranked prospect in the 2023 On300 is ready to re-open his recruitment.

“Me and my mom have been talking about this for about two months, and after thinking about it, it is just the right time,” Keith told On3. “I was at Georgia Tech Saturday and there is nothing bad about Georgia Tech, but I just want to look at all my options.”

Keith has nine offers, and outside of Georgia Tech, he has only visited Maryland.

He is not planning to visit anywhere next weekend, but in the spring, Keith will get back out.

“I want to see who else offers, take more visits, and just talk to coaches without being committed right now.

Tennessee is talking to me a lot. Coastal Carolina is recruiting me hard. Kentucky hasn’t offered yet, but they have been by the school a couple of times and are showing a lot of interest.

“I want to see what happens now and just take my time.”

Georgia Tech is not eliminated. Keith really likes the coaching staff and the academics the institute in Atlanta offers. He just wants to hit that reset button.

“I just committed too quickly and too early,” Keith said. “I am completely starting over. Everything was smooth with Georgia Tech, but I just want to start things over.”
