4-star guard Chris Lockett Jr. updates recruitment
Chris Lockett Jr. is one of the better guards in the country and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Louisiana. The 6-foot-5 combo guard out of Isidore Newman has taken unofficial visits to Texas, Miami, and LSU. He also holds offers from Baylor, Georgetown, Houston, Kansas, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, among others.
Before Hurricane Ida, Lockett planned on making trips to see Kentucky, Houston, and Arkansas.
Lockett says he hears the most from LSU, Arkansas, Texas, Memphis, Georgetown, Houston, Baylor, and Kentucky.
He gave his thoughts on his recent college visits.
Texas: “The atmosphere and the fans,” Lockett said on what stood out during his trip to Austin. “I loved the football game. Coach (Chris) Beard keeps it real. He pushes his players and lets them have fun.”
LSU: “It was good, I watched the practice. The practice was good, great atmosphere. Coach (Will) Wade lets his players play as well. We went to the football game and I loved the atmosphere. I loved the fans.”

Chris Lockett Jr. is a Louisiana native but says he didn’t grow up a fan of the Tigers, or any school in particular. “I just love the game of basketball. I just watched everybody, I’m a fan of everyone, to be honest.”
Miami: “It was good. I met the coach, all the assistants, and I just got to see how the campus was. It was fun.”
