Another blue-chip offensive lineman is set to come off the board this weekend.

On Thursday, Washington (D.C.) Riverdale Baptist four-star interior offensive lineman Jayvon McFadden told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he has set a commitment date for this Saturday, Aug. 24.

The 6-foot-3.5, 270-pounder will choose between Colorado, Maryland, Ohio State and South Carolina.

McFadden is the No. 395 overall prospect and No. 31 IOL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 11 player in Maryland.

The Buckeyes are currently trending for McFadden, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Since June, three picks have been logged in favor of Ryan Day and Co. landing the trench monster, adding to their top-ranked 2025 recruiting class.

“Columbus was good, man,” McFadden told Lettermen Row following his June official visit. “It’s always good to get down there and just feel the vibe with Coach Day and Coach Frye. But this right here, this was probably my best one yet.”

One of Ohio State’s first big pickups this year came back in January, as Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe pledged to the home-state school. His stock has only increased since, as he now checks in at No. 48 overall and No. 6 at the tackle spot in the senior class.

“I love the program,” Lowe told On3 about his decision. “Ohio State has always been high on my list, and Coach Frye was big in my decision. He was probably the biggest reason because he has had a lot of success at developing guys at Ohio State. I believe he can coach me, develop me and get me where I want to be.”

The Buckeyes added a second OL commitment this summer via Westerville (Ohio) North three-star interior lineman Jake Cook, a former Louisville pledge. He currently rounds out the OSU class as the nation’s No. 51 IOL and No. 23 player in Ohio.

“This opportunity is huge for me,” Cook told On3. “Being an Ohio kid and going to Ohio State is every kid’s dream.”

Ohio State missed out on Five-Star Plus+ OT David Sanders Jr. last week, but it still has the No. 1 class in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. In total, the class features 24 commitments, including 10 top-100 prospects.
