4-Star Isaiah Miranda recaps official visit with USC and what's next
Isaiah Miranda was in the stands on Sunday to watch USC’s 62-60 win over Washington State. This was the Springfield (Mass.) Commonwealth Academy junior’s first official visit. The 7-footer is the No. 35 ranked player in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media services.
Andy Enfield has recruited big men as well as anyone in the country recently, with the likes of Evan Mobley and Onyeka Okongwu becoming lottery picks within the last five years.
“It was great. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed my time there,” Miranda told On3 in an exclusive interview after completing his visit.
In Miranda’s words
Miranda brought his mother, sister, nephew, and AAU coach with him to watch the Trojans’ two-point win over Washington State. USC sophomore Boogie Ellis knocked down a mid-range jumper as time expired to secure a buzzer-beating conference victory.
“The atmosphere there was great,” Miranda said. “They showed so much love to my family and me and made us all feel welcomed. They were loud, just how I like it. My mom, sister, and nephew all went with me, so did my AAU coaches. It was most of their first time on the west coast, so I think it really opened all our eyes just how far this basketball thing can take me.”

This visit was Miranda’s second trip to the campus; he took an unofficial visit in October. Miranda also took note of the recent success Enfield, and the program has had with big men.
“They keep their bigs involved in the plays,” Miranda said. “The form what they do around their bigs specific skill sets. They said they could utilize me as the three, four, or five. They have other big men who don’t play like me, and I could share the court with them.”
In recent months, Isaiah Miranda has taken unofficial visits to Providence, UConn, UCLA, and Kentucky and is starting to set up official visits. Next up, he is working on an official visit date to LSU. Kentucky also wants to get him back down at some point in the Spring.
