4-star Jordan Butler no longer visiting Florida State this weekend
Jordan Butler is the No. 42 player in On3’s 2023 class rankings. The 6-foot-10 Butler is the younger brother of John Butler, who recently signed a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.
On3’s Joe Tipton announced last week that Butler had his first two official visits set, South Carolina on August 19 and Florida State on August 27.
Butler went on his official visit to South Carolina last weekend. However, the Florida State staff had to postpone their visit due to the Seminoles’ courts getting re-done.
As things stand, both parties say they are looking to reschedule the visit; however, a date has not been set. Watch for this recruitment to end before the basketball season starts.

Butler’s scouting report
Jordan Butler is a lengthy 6-foot-11 forward. Very skilled, he has a pure shooting stroke that extends well beyond the three-point line. Butler has a high, repeatable release and great balance off the catch. He will need to continue adding strength, which is a must. When Butler locks in on rebounder, he can drift out of the paint some; he has good instincts tracking the ball and great hands. Butler works well out of the mid-range, able to put the ball on the floor for a dribble or two and attack his spots on the floor. He is young for his grade, so there is still a lot of ceiling to go. Butler is a solid athlete and has a considerable upside with his size and skill set. Butler’s mother played at South Carolina, and his brother, John, is a rookie in the NBA.
