4-star LB Aaron Chiles narrows list to three schools
Olney (Md.) Good Counsel four-star linebacker Aaron Chiles is down to three schools in his recruitment, he announced on Tuesday.
Among the remaining contenders are Florida, Michigan and Maryland.
Chiles is the No. 103 overall prospect and No. 7 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Maryland.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Chiles holds nearly three-dozen Power Five offers.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Michigan as the heavy favorite to land Chiles, giving the Wolverines a 93.6 percent chance of securing his commitment. He currently has official visits scheduled with the Wolverines and Gators, with Florida set to host him June 9 and Michigan bringing him to town the weekend of June 23.
Chiles has developed great rapport with Chris Partridge
UM linebackers coach George Helow was Chiles’ primary recruiter, but was replaced this offseason by Chris Partridge. The first-year coach actually recruited Chiles during his time at Ole Miss, and the two hit it off during his visit in March.

“I got a chance to meet his whole family — his wife and kids,” Chiles told TheWolverine.com. “Throughout this whole trip, we became closer and closer. We sat down and talked about what he cares about and looks for in a linebacker. He’s really enthusiastic. He gets really fired up in the meetings. He takes school really seriously, which is a big piece.”
Chiles and his family also met with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who he said has taken an active role in his recruitment.
“It’s always a great experience with him,” Chiles said. “My family picked his brain and had great conversations with him. We talked about business and football. He’s very genuine and for the players. People outside of his office told me how great Coach Harbaugh is and how much he cares about the players. That’s another thing my family really liked.”
