Charlotte (N.C.) West Mecklenberg linebacker Elijah Littlejohn took an official visit to Penn State earlier this month, and he has decided he wants to call Happy Valley home. The No. 22 linebacker in the country has committed to the Nittany Lions over Georgia Tech, NC State and Virginia Tech.

“I knew when I left my official visit that it was going to be Penn State,” Littlejohn told On3. “Even when I was there the first time in the spring, I felt it. The coaches treated me and my family so well and I liked the atmosphere a lot. Then on the official visit, I knew Penn State was home.”

James Franklin and his staff really got involved with Littlejohn earlier this year. Since they identified him as a target, they have stayed consistent. He ended up choosing the Big Ten program for many reasons.

“Penn State is always putting guys into the league. They have great coaches. Coach Conner played there, he played in the NFL and he will develop me. Penn State has the best defensive coordinator (Jim Knowles) in college football, so the defense will be great.

“Then I really like the town and the people there. It is a great place, the atmosphere is great for me and me and my family love it. It is just a great place for me.”

Littlejohn made the call on Monday morning. He talked to numerous coaches, including coach Franklin.

“Everyone was excited,” Littlejohn said. “Coach Franklin was yelling and saying ‘We Are’ after I told him. Everyone was happy to have me and I know this is it for me. I am done with visits and locked in with Penn State.”
