It is that time for Jamal Anderson.

The four-star linebacker out of Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek has set a commitment date for June 13. Anderson is not planning to publicly reveal who the finalists are, but the schools that look to be contending late are Clemson, Michigan State, and Utah. Florida and Penn State have been mentioned recently by Anderson as well.

The No. 174 prospect in the On3 Consensus is down to one though and he is ready to make his decision public.

“I had always planned to commit before the season, not necessarily this early, but I trust my decision to be best for me,” Anderson told On3.

Anderson will turn his focus toward his senior season and put recruiting behind him. He is an early enrollee and he has found the school he will sign with in December.

“This school is right for me because I fit well into the defense. I can see myself fitting in with the team too. Along with this, they have great development and an amazing winning tradition with a staff who really cares more than just about football.”

Anderson said he got “the feeling” shortly after a recent visit. Visits played a big role in his decision.

“Getting a deeper look at the program, talking with players, and seeing how my family liked their time and the university really helped me make my decision.”
