4-star LB Tyler Lockhart commits to Mississippi State Bulldogs
Winona (Miss.) four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart has committed to Mississippi State, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
He took an official visit to Starkville on June 21 — two weeks after taking an official visit to Auburn. He initially committed to the Tigers in May before backing off of that pledge.
“I just felt like I needed to make that decision,” Lockhart told On3 last month. “I just want to see what is best for me so I decommitted. Since then I’d say State, Auburn and Ole Miss are on me the hardest.”
Lockhart spoke about his relationship with Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lebby and defensive coordinator Coleman Hutzler.

“Coach Lebby was telling me some of the same things the other coaches there have been saying,” Lockhart said. “He wants me there and I have a good time around him and his coaches. He always has the same message for me. He always tells me he wants me to come there and lead from the front. It’s been the same with Coach Hutzler, too, and he’s been recruiting me hard.”
Lockhart is the nation’s No. 144 overall prospect, No. 14 linebacker and No. 6 recruit from Mississippi in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
