Talk about midnight madness! Ole Miss landed a commitment at exactly midnight Wednesday morning from four-star senior offensive lineman Bryson Hurst of Gautier, Miss.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder picked the Rebels over Auburn, Florida State, Oregon, Kentucky, Mississippi State and offers from more than 10 other schools.

Terrell Buckley is the primary recruiter for Hurst. Rebels offensive line coach Jake Thornton also heavily recruited Hurst throughout the process.

Hurst becomes commitment No. 11 for the Rebels. He’s the fourth offensive lineman to join the class. Line targets Jacarius Clayton, Timi Gagophien and Preston Cushman have already committed to Ole Miss. It’s an impressive OL haul for the Rebels. It helps Lane Kiffin’s crew add more depth upfront, which is always needed in the SEC.

Happy birthday Bryson Hurst

The commitment from Bryson Hurt comes on his birthday. He indicated for weeks he was ready to decide. He was originally scheduled to announce Wednesday afternoon. However, Hurst said he was feeling so good about his decision he couldn’t wait any longer.

“There’s no need to wait,” he said.

Hurst took multiple unofficial visits in late July to Oxford, which helped seal the deal for Ole Miss.

However, Hurst has yet to experience an official visit. He indicated in the past he would take several official visits even after he committed. He said Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida State, Oregon and maybe Central Florida are in line for trips.
