4-star OT Aaron Dunn decommits from Utah
Spanish Fork (Utah) four-star offensive tackle Aaron Dunn has decommitted from Utah, he announced on Thursday.
He was pledged to the in-state Utes since Aug. 8, when he chose them over Oregon and USC.
Dunn is the No. 223 overall prospect and No. 18 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in the Beehive State.
“First I want to thank god for the countless blessings that he has bestowed upon me. After prayers and discussions with my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Utah,” Dunn wrote, announcing his decision on X. “Thank you to coach Harding, and Whittingham for giving me the opportunity to play for the team.”
The loss of Dunn is a big one for Utah’s 2025 recruiting class. He was easily the top-ranked pledge in the mix for Kyle Whittingham and Co. The class now no longer features a blue-chip commit and ranks outside the top 50 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Dunn’s commitment to the Utes was one that originally came down to the wire. Dunn’s father, Greg, told On3’s Steve Wiltfong back in the summer that it was a “tough decision with a lot of back and forth.” Now, the Trojans and Ducks will be teams to keep an eye on with Dunn’s name back on the board.

Utah loses key piece to 2025 recruiting class
With the 6-foot-7.5 tackle no longer set to head to Salt Lake City after his senior season, Utah’s 2025 class now features just 17 total commitments and ranks No. 53 in the nation.
Las Vegas Arbor View three-star linebacker Christian Thatcher is now the top-ranked commit in the class, checking in as the No. 409 recruit and No. 42 LB in the nation. He’s one of three linebackers in the class, alongside Saint George (Utah) Desert Hills three-star Cyrus Polu and Kahuku (Hi.) three-star Max Fonoimoana.
Pasadena (Calif.) Sierra Canyon three-star quarterback Wyatt Becker has been in the class for nearly a year and is currently the nation’s No. 33 QB. He’s one of just five listed commits on the offensive side of the ball for the Utes.
Other top commits in the class include: Salt Lake City Skyline three-star defensive lineman Karson Kaufusi, Pflugerville (Texas) three-star cornerback Jason Stokes, North Las Vegas Centennial three-star wide receiver Tavian McNair and El Paso (Texas) Del Valle three-star athlete Shelton Fuller.
