4-star OT Evan Goodwin names final 4 schools

After receiving north of 20 reported offers, Bauxite (Ark.) four-star offensive tackle Evan Goodwin is down to four schools in his recruitment, he announced on Friday evening.
Among the remaining contenders are Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, SMU and Missouri. Goodwin previously locked in official visits with the Tigers, Bulldogs and Cowboys, as well as Notre Dame and Wisconsin. However, the final four schools are expected to be the ones that get him on campus this summer.
He visited a bevy of schools this spring, with his most recent visit to Mississippi State coming on Friday.
In February, he talked to On3’s Chad Simmons about the schools he was hearing from the most at that time.
“Right now, I talk to Notre Dame, Mississippi State, Missouri, Wisconsin and LSU all the time,” Goodwin told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “The head coaches text me, along with those in the o-line room. That means a lot to me.”

Official visits will be key for Goodwin
The 6-foot-7, 300-pounder doesn’t have a commitment date in mind, but does know what will ultimately help him make his final decision.
“The official visits will be critical,” Goodwin told MaroonandWhite.com earlier this week. “On my official visits, I want to sit down with the players on the team to see what their perspective is, not only about what the school is but what it is like with the coaches there. I want to get the players’ insight into those programs.”
Academics, winning culture and a strong locker room will also play a factor.
“That is a big deal,” added Goodwin. “Without a good locker room culture and without a good football culture on your team, you’re not going to win. I can’t stand losing. So I want to go somewhere with a good locker room culture and a good football culture so we can win.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Goodwin is the No. 263 overall prospect and the country’s No. 21 offensive tackle.
