Dorchester (S.C.) Woodland four-star offensive tackle Kam Pringle has his fair share of offers and has his fair share of visits.

As one of the nation’s top recruits, he is in control of his recruitment and he is taking a calculated approach to his process.

“When I make the decision, it will be like really educated, professional decision, Pringle told On3. “It’s not just gonna be, oh, my friend committed so I’m gonna go there or they said they’re gonna do this. I’m gonna go there. It’s going to be really where I feel comfortable.”

The 2024 On3 Consensus ranks Pringle as the No. 1 recruit from the state of South Carolina and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country.

Pringle said he hasn’t closed off his recruitment to any new teams as he works on cutting down his list. But the four-star prospect did add that Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee and South Carolina are all teams that are putting their best food forward in their pursuit of him.

“These guys are getting paid six figures to recruit,” Pringle said. “If they’re putting their best foot forward to recruit me, all I can do is just pay back the respect.”

He also highlighted his hope to get to Athens, Ga., for a Georgia game.

Most of the schools Pringle is considering are SEC and ACC teams. He said that he is looking for a school close to home.

But if a place like Ohio State ends up being the spot for him, he would embrace the opportunity.

“I’ll just do what I need to do,” Pringle said. “My family, they’re gonna support me, and they will be there as often as I can.”
