4-star PF Spencer Ahrens commits to Boise State
Spencer Ahrens, a four-star power forward in the 2025 class, has committed to Boise State, he told On3.
The 6-foot-9 senior out of Bella Vista (AZ) chose the Broncos over a final group of Gonzaga, Illinois, San Francisco, Stanford, and Washington.
Ahrens, a native of Oakville, Ontario in Canada, is the No. 104 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 24 power forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3’s evaluators are much higher on Ahrens, ranking him No. 79 in the 2025 class.
Ahrens on his commitment to Boise State
Spencer Ahrens went in-dept on his commitment to Boise State with On3.
“A lot went into this decision and it was not made overnight. Overall, Boise State fit my main pillars the best. I am going to be given a great opportunity to impact as a freshman, the coaches have a great development plan for me and see what I can become, and I have built a great relationship with coaching staff. Then there is stuff on top, they win games.”

What led to his trust in the coach Rice and the rest of the coaching staff?
“The trust part came from how they have been recruiting me from the start and stayed true to me through my ups and downs no matter what. Trust is very hard at this level, but Coach Rice has done a great job with the program by being very open and respectful to all his players.”
In his own words, what type of player is Boise State getting in Spencer Ahrens?
I would describe myself as an adaptable all around player. I can shoot off the dribble or the pick-n-pop, high level passer and vision, very high IQ player on the offensive and defensive side, and a tough rebounder.”
He has a message for Boise State fans.
“Not coming there to lose, I’m ready to come in and make an impact right away to make Boise a tournament team!”
