Michigan is getting one of the nation’s top running backs back to Ann Arbor for an official visit this summer.

Forney (Texas) four-star RB Javian Osborne will take an OV to U-M on June 20, his father tells The Wolverine’s EJ Holland.

It’s the second official visit on the schedule for Osborne, who is also set to see Texas once again the week prior on June 13. The Longhorns are currently trending for the in-state standout, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Osborne is the No. 77 overall prospect and No. 6 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 10 player in Texas.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder has been one of the Wolverines’ top targets at the position. Last month, Osborne was visited by head coach Sherrone Moore, offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and general manager Sean Magee.

Running backs coach Tony Alford is leading the Wolverines’ charge for Osborne, who told Holland last month that Texas and Michigan were “fighting for the No. 1 spot” in his recruitment. That battle could continue to linger into the summer, where OVs could prove to be crucial.

“Since Coach TA (Tony Alford) came in the building, he’s been on since the first day he came into the office,” Osborne told On3 at the end of December.

As a junior for Forney, Osborne ran for 1,085 yards and 21 touchdowns while also adding 168 receiving yards and an additional three scores, per MaxPreps. Forney went 5-6 in 2024.

Michigan currently has two commits in its 2026 recruiting class in Jacksonville Mandarin four-star cornerback Brody Jennings and Southlake (Texas) Parish Episcopal three-star wide receiver Jaylen Pile.

The Wolevrines signed a pair of running backs in the 2025 cycle. Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw four-star Jasper Parker was the No. 20 player at the position, while Savannah (Ga.) IMG Academy three-star Donovan Johnson checked in as the No. 43 RB in the cycle.
