Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County running back Ousman Kromah has committed to Georgia. The 6-foot-0.5, 215-pound four-star chose the in-state Bulldogs over Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee and he is going where he feels he can reach his goals played a big role in his decision.

“The greatness of Georgia led me there,” Kromah told On3. “I want to be great. Georgia will push me. Kirby Smart will push me. The staff at Georgia will push me, they will get the best out of me and I don’t want to be one of the best, but I want to be the best and Georgia can help me get there. I believe in what they do, how they do and how they develop their players.”

Kromah has watched Georgia win two national titles under Smart. He sees the talent in Athens. He sees the coaching between the hedges. The No. 112 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking doesn’t see things slowing down in Athens.

“How could it? With what Georgia has and what they consistently have coming in, Georgia is going to be great. Coach Smart has found that secret recipe.

“I can just help add to what they have done and what they are doing. Georgia is full of great people, great coaches and great players, so they are not going anywhere.”

Kromah is Georgia’s 22nd commitment this cycle.

Kromah loves the coaches at Georgia

Smart is the head coach, but it starts with running backs coach Josh Crawford. The two have a connection on a different level.

“Coach Crawford is just a wonderful guy,” Kromah said. “We talk every day. And we talk about actual life, not just football. Our relationship is deep and it gets deeper and deeper every day. He is very consistent, we know each other well and he is just a great guy.

“He coached my brother at Lee County, my brother says a lot of great things about him and he is a coach with personality. Coach Crawford knows what he is talking about too as a coach.”

Crawford connected with Kromah and Smart has what he is looking for in a head coach.

“Kirby is from south Georgia and I love what he is about. He wants to be the best, he wants his players to be the best and I know what he can pull out of me. Coach Smart is intense when working, but he knows how to fun too. He is a great coach who wins, but also has a fun personality.”
