Louisville has recruited Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca Raton four-star safety Jaydin Broadnax since his sophomore year. The Cardinals were his 20th offer, yet the ACC program quickly caught his attention.

Since the day Louisville offered Broadnax, head coach Jeff Brohm and his staff made the talented defensive back “feel wanted.” He visited the Cardinals a week after they offered him and has talked to their coaches almost every day since then. Brohm and Co.’s recruiting efforts eventually paid off, as Broadnax committed to Louisville on Saturday.

“I committed to Louisville because of the scheme they run,” Broadnax told On3. “The system fits me. Coach Steve Ellis is a great coach too. He puts guys into the NFL year after year. Coach Ellis is a developer. Coach Brohm was also part of the reason why I chose Louisville. He is a Louisville guy and he’s not leaving there any time soon. The whole staff is genuine. It is a winning program. I see myself playing early there too.”

Broadnax believes in Louisville’s coaching staff

Broadnax has already visited the Cardinals four times and was on campus this week. Louisville beat out multiple programs for the No. 44 player in Florida, including Auburn, South Carolina and Syracuse

“It started last summer when I visited,” said Broadnax, the No. 297 overall prospect and No. 24 safety in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. “The staff was great. The people are real and how they treated me was different. They made me feel like a real priority and like they needed me. They feel I can change the program.”

Both Brohm and Ellis – the Cardinals’ cornerbacks coach – played a role in Broadnax’s decision. He is looking forward to playing for both of them in the future.

“Knowing coach Brohm will be there is important,” Broadnax said. “He is a Louisville guy and he is a stand-up guy. The program has stability with him there and he cares about Louisville. He came down in January with coach Ellis. I believe they can get me where I want to go.”

“Coach Ellis is all about his players,” he added. “He’s a player-first coach. We talk every day. We talk about life, not just football. He called me from the combine last week to check on me. He is a great guy, he knows the game and he likes to give back.”
