Ladarian Clardy (1) carries the ball during the Escambia vs Pine Forest football game at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023.

Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia four-star safety Ladarian Clardy was back at Ole Miss this past weekend and he is still set to announce his commitment on his brother’s birthday, Sept. 21. Florida State is viewed at Ole Miss’ top competition and Washington is still on his list, but there is a new school in the mix. It is Vanderbilt.

The No. 179 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking will spend this weekend in Nashville on an official visit.

“I have been talking to Vanderbilt for a couple of weeks now,” Clardy told On3. “I’ve been talking to the whole staff and they’ve been letting me know I’m the top safety on the board, so I want to check it out.”

Clardy is still learning about Clark Lea‘s program. The Commorodres upset Virginia Tech over the weekend and they will host Alcorn State on Saturday.

He is still eyeing a return to Tallahassee, but other than his visit to Nashville, there are no visits locked in and he gets closer to his decision.

A decision date in August was set before Clardy pushed it back. He still feels good about a commitment this month and he knows what he is looking for in a school.

“What’s most important to me is the school that can develop me on and off the field. I also want to be part of a team that’s a brotherhood. And the main thing is I’m looking for a school that can help me get to the next level.”
