4-star safety Ladarian Clardy postpones commitment
Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia four-star safety Ladarian Clardy was set to announce his commitment on August 3, but will now wait to make a decision, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.
Clardy is down to Florida State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Washington and UCF.
No new commitment date has been set, but the race to land him is shaping up to be a battle between Florida State and Ole Miss. He’ll visit the Rebels again on Wednesday before the recruiting dead period begins on August 1.
The No. 179 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking took official visits to his top five schools.
Coming into his official visits, the Seminoles were at or near the top of list. And nothing appears to have changed in that regard.
“After this weekend, they most definitely are back at the top of my list,” Clardy told On3 after his visit early in June. “What pushed them to the top was the love they showed. That, the way they run things, how me and coach Norvell’s bond got even better over the weekend put Florida State on top. Coach Norvell let me know that he really wants to coach me and get me to the next level.”

However, his decision isn’t made yet and the Rebels, Bulldogs, Huskies and Knights will also be working hard to land him over the next three weeks before his decision.
“To be honest, I’m like everywhere right now,” he recently told Warchant of his top schools. “I’m just so confused. There are a couple of schools, like Florida State and Ole Miss, I’m very high on them. I have eyes on Mississippi State. But those two schools are up there.”
