Efeosa Oliogu is the No. 26 player in the recently updated 2025 On3 150. The 6-foot-5 wing from Ontario, Canada played this season for the Overtime Elite/GA program where he averaged 8.7 points and 3.5 rebounds on 50.6 shooting from the field.

“I watch a lot of OG Anuoby,” Oliogu told On3. “To be honest I try to play a lot like him. It is a simple, fundamental play style, but we can do what we need to do. I would say I’ve definitely improved my shooting. I used to be a streaky shooter, but with my time in the gym, I feel like I can make shots, even with a hand up.

On3 was able to catch up with four-star Efeosa Oliogu recently to break down his recruitment and talk visits.

“I’ve taken three official visits so far,” Oliogu said. “I’ve been to Missouri, Maryland, and Providence.”

Oliogu talks visits

MISSOURI: “The culture at Missouri is very together. It felt like everyone was really into the basketball portion at the school. They like to space out and get downhill; play four out and one in. I like to play downhill and make reads with the ball.

“We check in with each other a lot, see how it’s going. Talk about recruiting and basketball, and all that.”

PROVIDENCE: “They’re a family over there, I like the culture over there. They had a good season and I think a lot of that had to do with the culture they have. Coach (Kim) English, you know he’s a young coach, so I think he is able to look at a lot of things from a player aspect as well. He understands the team and the players, so I think that helps.

“They play a four-out set as well. Coach English lets his players do what they’re good at doing. I like getting downhill and making reads.”

MARYLAND: “When I visited there, they didn’t have a game or anything, so I was able to spend a lot of time with the coaches. I got to see the campus. They were building a new facility, so I’m excited to go see that. I liked everything they had there. I enjoyed myself a lot.

“We talk a good bit, things have been steady with them. We have a good relationship.”

Efeosa Oliogu talks recruitment

“I plan on going to see Gonzaga, Oklahoma, and Alabama for visits,” Oliogu said.

OKLAHOMA: “They had a really good season this year. When I talk with the coaches they talk about my game and they like how I play. They talk about how I would fit in with how they play. Being able to see what the school is about and break down the fit.”

GONZAGA: “They have won a lot. They also teach fundamentals. I like the fundamentals and to make things simple. They like my athleticism and how I’m able to attack.”

ALABAMA: “They have produced a good amount of NBA players. Being able to be around that facility and learn more about their system and coaching staff would be really good.”

In his words

“I would like to start taking these visits this summer,” Oliogu said. “I want to see how the summer goes, see if I get any more offers and what schools are interested in me. Right now my plan is to stay in the 2025 class, but I have definitely given thought to coming out in 2024. All the schools I’m talking to would take me in 2024 or 2025.

“The coaching staff will be big for me. And not just the coaching staff, but everyone that is around the program. I want to see how they all interact with the players. The support people are the ones that will keep me healthy and in line.

“I’m n a system that is aggressive. An offense that gets downhill and a defense that presses and traps.”
