4-star SF Jermaine O'Neal Jr. commits to SMU

Jermaine O’Neal Jr., a four-star small forward in the 2025 class, has committed to SMU and head coach Andy Enfield, source told On3.
The 6-foot-5 senior out of Dallas-based Dynamic Prep chose the Mustangs over Vanderbilt.
O’Neal, the son of six-time NBA All-Star Jermaine O’Neal, becomes SMU’s first commitment in the 2025 class. SMU is also a finalist for one of O’Neal’s teammates and close friend, four-star C Jaden Toombs.
O’Neal is the No. 99 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 23 small forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

O’Neal talks SMU
O’Neal made an official visit to the Mustangs earlier this month and recapped his time with SMU Analyst Billy Embody.
“The visit went great,” O’Neal said. “I love the coaching staff and how they appreciate me for me. I love the school and everything they’re building there especially since they’re now in the ACC. So in all it was a very good visit.”
