4-star SG Rayvon Griffith commits to Cincinnati
Cincinnati makes its first splash in the 2023 class and it’s a big one.
Four-star prospect Rayvon Griffith has decided to stay home and commit to the Cincinnati Bearcats, he told On3.
Griffith — a 6-foot-4 shooting guard and Cincinnati native — chose the hometown Bearcats over offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Kansas, UCLA, and others. He attends Taft High School, just two miles away from the University of Cincinnati’s campus.

“The reason I picked Cincinnati is because it’s home,” Griffith said to On3. “I want to start my own trend and be a hometown hero. I want to put on for my city and play for Coach Wes Miller and the whole Cincinnati coaching staff.”
Griffith is the No. 47 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Scouting Report
“Rayvon Griffith is a length and explosive wing prospect out of Cincinnati, Ohio. He has a smooth jump shot that he gets into off the catch or off the bounce. Griffith has comfort on the ball in the half-court, and he plays unselfishly. There is upside on the defensive end with his length and athleticism, and he does have instincts in the passing lanes. We would like to see him get downhill more aggressively, more consistently, and he will need to continue adding strength. The talent is apparent, as are his natural physical gifts.” – Jamie Shaw, On3’s National Recruiting Analyst
