4-star Tafara Gapare cuts list to 7, including pro options; sets commitment date
Four-star prospect Tafara Gapare tells On3 he’s down to five schools: Maryland, Illinois, DePaul, Virginia Tech, and UConn, as well as two pro routes: the Overtime Elite league, and the Australian NBL. An ultimate decision will be announced on Monday, June 5th at 6:00pm ET.
The 6-foot-10 power forward out of South Kent (Conn.) School also received offers from Syracuse, Xavier, Rutgers, Arizona State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, and others.

Originally from New Zealand, Gapare is ranked as the No. 76 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Gapare could potentially reclassify to 2022, however, a decision will not be made until later this summer.
DePaul is the only known school to have hosted him for an official visit.
