Greer (S.C.) Riverside four-star tight end Mikkel Skinner committed to Scott Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats early in June. He has been locked in, but after picking up some new offers and taking multiple visits, the four-star has backed off his pledge and re-opened his recruitment.

“I have decommitted from Cincinnati,” Skinner told On3.

Skinner took an official visit to Kentucky last weekend. The Wildcats fell to South Carolina. He will be back in Columbia this weekend. He was at South Carolina for their season opener as well, so Skinner will see the Gamecocks play for the third weekend in a row when they host LSU on Saturday.

He referred to South Carolina as his “dream school” when speaking to On3 in the past.

Vince Marrow has been leading the charge and heading into the official visit to Lexington, Skinner had nothing but praise for him.

“I love him. Like love him,” he said. “We have a lot in common. And he’s just a cool guy. I would be away from my family so him itself just makes it feel like home and acts just like my pops.”
