4-star TE Tae'shaun Gelsey not signing with Florida Gators
Jacksonville Riverside four-star tight end Tae’shaun Gelsey will not be signing with the Florida Gators, according to On3’s Keith Niebuhr.
Gelsey has been in the UF class since June 29, but the school is parting ways with the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder, per Niebuhr. Florida State is a program that has been targeting Gelsey down the stretch this fall.
He is the No. 345 overall prospect and No. 22 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 50 player in Florida.
On3 ranks Gelsey higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 184 recruit, No. 11 TE and No. 28 player in the Sunshine State, according to the 2025 On300. Gelsey is one of two tight ends in Florida’s class, alongside three-star Micah Jones.

On Dec. 1, Gelsey told Warchant that he was “conflicted” about his commitment. He logged a late visit to Tallahassee and could become another welcomed addition to Mike Norvell’s 2025 class.
“Coach Norvell has a lot of energy and he always treats every player the right way,” Gelsey said. “On a decision, I’m still conflicted and still going to do the research on the best spot.”
The Noles signed four-star TE Chase Loftin earlier on Wednesday. Gelsey is a name to watch moving forward as a majority of the 2025 cycle puts pen to paper.
