Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star tight end Xavier Tiller has committed to Florida State, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Tiller chose the Seminoles over Auburn and Alabama, two programs he took official visits to earlier this month. He was also at one time committed to Texas A&M, but backed off that pledge in February after a little more than three months.

Both of the SEC schools made strong pushes for Tiller, but ultimately the opportunity to play early and the relationships in Tallahassee won out.

“I feel like if I play as a freshman, it’ll build me up more,” he told Warchant after his official visit this past weekend. “They said they can use me in different ways. Coach [Gus] Malzahn, Coach Thomsen, they showed me ways they can use me, flex me out, block, all that.”

As a junior, he hauled in 25 catches for 344 yards and three touchdowns for Langston Hughes, one of Georgia’s top programs. That followed a breakout sophomore campaign where he caught 25 balls and totaled 352 yards and seven scores.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder is the No. 222 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 11 tight end and the No. 22 recruit in the Peach State.

Tiller continues FSU’s hot streak this month

He is also just the latest addition to a rapidly growing Seminoles’ class.

Entering the month of June, with five ranking as blue-chip prospects nationally. But Norvell and Co. have been cooking on the recruiting trail, adding nine new commitments over the past three weeks. Along with Tiller, they’ve hauled in four-stars Tico Crittendon, Brandon Bennett, Jaden O’Neal and Devin Carter, an FSU legacy who flipped earlier Monday from Auburn.

Carter was actually an early FSU pledge in 2023, but backed off his commitment after just nine months. But the changes he’s seen with the ‘Noles staff have him excited about the future in Tallahassee.

“The main reason is new offensive staff,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Coach Harris and coach Malzahn are great coaches and very detailed. They are changing the offense and they have a plan to make me a productive receiver and put in a position to be a guy very early for them. My goal is to be a freshman All-American and I believe they can get me there.”

In addition to the five four-stars, FSU has also added coveted three-stars James Carrington, Wihtlley Cadeau, Noah LaVallee and Luke Francis this month.
