4-star WR Anthony Brown decommits from Minnesota
Springfield (Ohio) four-star wide receiver Anthony Brown decommitted from Minnesota, announcing the news Monday on social media.
He originally committed to the Golden Gophers on Sept. 4, 2021.
“I would like to thank the University of Minnesota for welcoming me with open arms,” Brown said in a statement. “It is after much consideration, thought and talking multiple times with my family that (I’ve) made the decision to decommit and now reopening my recruitment to all schools.”
Brown is the No. 343 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He is the fifth-best player in Ohio in the class behind Findlay (Ohio) four-star interior offensive lineman Luke Montgomery, Mentor (Ohio) four-star defensive lineman Brenan Vernon, Dayton (Ohio) Wayne four-star interior offensive lineman Josh Padilla and Cincinnati (Ohio) Lakota East four-star interior offensive lineman Austin Siereveld.

Brown has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8,000. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
The Golden Gophers now have one recruit in their 2023 class: Kasson (Minn.) Kasson-Mantorville Senior offensive lineman Reese Tripp.
