After visiting Clemson and Ole Miss over the weekend, Saraland (Ala.) four-star wide receiver Dillon Alfred was expected to announce his college decision today.

That announcement date has been pushed back to Aug. 2.

“Over the past weekend and visited two amazing places (Clemson and Ole Miss), both unique and special in their own way,” Alfred wrote on social media. “I initially thought about making my commitment decision today. However, after thinking about it more I’m delaying my announcement until August 2nd”

Alfred initially committed to Ole Miss on April 9 before decommitting from the Rebels on June 24. Lane Kiffin’s squad currently leads for Alfred in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction favoring the Rebels on Monday.

Still, the Tigers appear to be battling.

Alfred previously previewed his decision with OM Spirit.

“I wanted to give myself some time to make sure I was making the right decision for my future,” Alfred said. “The thing I’m looking for is a home, with no doubt I feel fits me. And one in which I have an opportunity to make an early impact on the field.
