Top prospects are locking in their spring visit plans — and that includes Sachse (Texas) four-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett.

Earlier this month, the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder set trips to Florida State (March 9), Penn State (March 14), Ohio State (March 23) and LSU (April 12). Now, Lockett tells On3’s Sam Spiegelman that a pair of in-state schools are also slated to get a visit.

On April 6, Lockett will make his way to The Forty Acres for his latest visit with Texas. Two weeks later on April 20, he will visit Texas A&M.

For the Aggies, it will be the second time in 2024 that Lockett will be in College Station, as Mike Elko and the new A&M staff continue to turn up the heat in their push for the elite wideout. The Ags are coming on strong and are doing all they can to show Lockett he’s a priority.

“I loved my visit at Texas A&M. As soon as I walked in the door they showed me love,” Lockett told On3 last month. “It felt treating being back in College Station, I had so many memories there growing up.”

“Coach Elko … he means business,” he continued. “What intrigues me is that he said he’s not gonna talk about it; he’s gonna be about it … That’s his motto for the upcoming season. Now that Wiggins is there and the new staff is there, I’m really liking A&M.”

As for Texas, Steve Sarkisian and Co. have had Lockett on campus plenty throughout the early stages of his recruitment. The likes of Ohio State and LSU figure to have hats on the table when the time comes for Lockett to commit, but the Longhorns aren’t looking to go anywhere, either.

Lockett is the No. 52 overall prospect and No. 7 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 10 player in Texas.
