4-star WR Marcus Harris decommits from Oklahoma
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris has decommitted from Oklahoma, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
He was pledged to the Sooners since June 17, when he chose the SEC program over the likes of Oregon, UCLA and Georgia.
Harris is the No. 349 overall prospect and No. 53 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 30 player in California.
The 5-foot-11 pass-catcher was one of five wideouts in OU’s 2025 class. He’s now back on the board with National Signing Day just three days away. The Sooners now have 19 commits in their recruiting class, which ranks No. 13 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Harris’ recruitment was topsy-turvy in the lead-up to his summer commitment. Different programs looked to have the edge at different times this year, but it was the culture and coaching staff in Norman that originally drew Harris to commit to Oklahoma.
“I would really say the coaching staff,” Harris said of his commitment to On3. “I feel like Coach Jones, Coach Venables and the rest of the staff had a plan for me. I really felt needed and wanted. Also when I stepped foot on campus it just felt like home.”
Harris was a key cog for Mater Dei on offense this season. The Monarchs once again won the CIF-Southern Division 1 title over the weekend. Harris had a touchdown grab in the victory.

Sooners trending to lose another blue-chip WR ahead of NSD
Harris might not be the only wideout to leave Oklahoma’s class ahead of National Signing Day, either.
Homestead (Fla.) four-star WR Cortez Mills committed to the Sooners not long after Harris, but he is now trending to flip to Nebraska, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Mills is the No. 19 WR in the cycle.
The OU class still contains some firepower and is headlined by Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, the nation’s No. 13 prospect. Texas and Texas A&M are pushing hard to flip the elite trench monster.
Fasusi and four-star OT Ryan Fodje are the lone pair of top-100 prospects in Brent Venables‘ 2025 class, as of Dec. 1. Other top commits include four-star WR Elijah Thomas, four-star EDGE CJ Nickson, four-star defensive lineman Trent Wilson, four-star cornerback Trystan Haynes and four-star safety Omarion Robinson.
