Another blue-chip wide receiver in the 2025 cycle is set to come off the board next month.

West Palm Beach (Fla.) Miami Central four-star wideout Naeshaun Montgomery is down to six programs and is now set to reveal his college decision on Aug. 25, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will choose between Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Oregon and Penn State.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder is the No. 247 overall prospect and No. 34 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 34 player in the Sunshine State.

Montgomery has taken official visits to Florida and Penn State. The in-state Gators are currently trending for his pledge, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). His OV to Gainesville came on the weekend of May 31 as UF receivers coach Billy Gonzales continues to push for his commitment.

“The energy from the moment I stepped on the campus to leaving,” Montgomery said of what stood out about the visit to On3 in June. “How engaged Coach (Billy) Napier was and Coach Billy Gonzales. All the players just welcomed me, letting me know that that’s a great school.”

Florida’s message to Montgomery is simple: come make an early impact for the program and be a part of the new wave of receivers to compliment DJ Lagway, the quarterback of the future.

“I’m a priority for them and I can definitely be a game-changer as a freshman and work with DJ Lagway,” Montgomery said. “They’ve always been high, but it definitely put them up another notch.”

The four-star is scheduled to return to Gainesville for a visit this weekend and is a top target for head coach Billy Napier and Co. moving forward. Over the weekend, Florida landed a commitment from Orlando Jones four-star WR Vernell Brown III, the No. 33 overall recruit in the nation. Brown is one of two receivers in UF’s 2025 class, alongside Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward four-star Joshua Moore.

“Naeshaun Montgomery is another top target for Florida,” On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong said earlier this week. “They’ve recruited him heavily for years now, Napier has built a good relationship with the kid, built a good relationship with his father. He’s gonna be back at Florida this week, that’s his only visit scheduled, they would love to add him to the two in the fold, that would be one of the best receiver classes in the country, for sure.”

As a junior, Montgomery hauled in 30 catches for 451 yards and five touchdowns in nine games. He’s currently the No. 10 uncommitted wide receiver in the 2025 class, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
