USC is in the mix for La Mesa (Calif.) Mount Miguel five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington. The 6-foot-2.5, 180-pounder continues to work towards a decision and he returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The elite defensive back is already familiar with head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans’ staff and he got to spend more time around the Big Ten program as it began spring practice this week.

Earlier this month, Arrington officially shortened his list of top schools down to six, with AlabamaGeorgiaOregonPenn State and Texas A&M also still in the mix alongside USC. He’s already locked in five official visits, too.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas A&M currently has the edge, but USC is right in the thick of things and isn’t looking to let the five-star leave the Golden State. Making a splash with Arrington on his next round of visits will be pivotal as he continues to work through his process.

“What excites me is that they showed me love and showed the priority they have for me and they been showing love since day one,” Arrington previously said of the Trojans.

“After my official visits, I am probably going to cut my list down to four schools, then commit to one,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons on March 9. “Like this list, my commitment will come down to relationships, development and being in a place where I want to be.”

Arrington is the No. 12 overall prospect and top-ranked corner in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in California.

USC currently has the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Two elite corners — Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) four-star RJ Sermons and Los Angeles Loyola four-star Brandon Lockhart — are already in the class as top-100 prospects.

About Brandon Arrington

“Brandon Arrington only needs two words to explain why football coaches love him. “My speed,” he said. “I feel like my track times benefit me for getting these big offers because colleges love speed.” Arrington claimed the 150-meter title and finished fourth in the 60-meter dash as a freshman at the California Winter Outdoor Championships. After playing his first two seasons at Helix, Arrington transferred to Mount Miguel ahead of his junior season. While at Helix, he caught six touchdown passes over two seasons and added a 65-yard punt return for a score as a sophomore.”
