Anthony Lucas Scouting Summary
On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote the following on Lucas as a prospect:
A long, strong and fluid athlete with unique dimensions. Sports massive hands and a 7-foot wing span at 6-foot-4.5, 290 pounds. Has rare fluidity and movement skills at his size. Is light-footed and moves quickly. Shows some natural pass rush skills that are not common with bigger defensive linemen. Has the ability to dip and bend in addition to turning speed into power. Also shows his athleticism as a pass catcher on offense. Not as productive as several other highly-ranked defensive linemen. Often draws double teams but could stand to be more physical and active on a snap to snap basis. Very young for the cycle with an October birthday and could technically be a 2023 prospect.
The On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting services, currently ranks Lucas as the nation’s No. 26 overall prospect, the No. 6 defensive line, and the No. 1 player in Arizona for the 2022.
