5-star DL Daevin Hobbs sets commitment date
Daevin Hobbs is coming off an unofficial visit to Tennessee with an official visit to Alabama approaching this weekend. The five-star defensive lineman out of Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson has an official visit to Georgia on Nov. 5 and not long after that, Hobbs will announce his commitment.
“I am going to commit on Nov. 25, my mom’s birthday,” Hobbs said. “It is a special day. She is one of my biggest supporters, so I want to honor her. Everyone always talks about me and my sister (2024 basketball prospect), reporters talk to my dad because he works at the school, so I want my mom to feel special too.
“She is always there for me. She keeps me in line. We have a super-close relationship. This will be a big day for her, for me, and for the family. It will be exciting for all of us.”
The No. 23 prospect in the On300 took official visits to Auburn and North Carolina over the summer. The Tigers and Tar Heels are working to stay in this race. Michigan and Ohio State jumped in late and he visited each school recently, but Hobbs seems to be focused on Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

“It is still very tight between those three schools. I have my commitment date set, but I still have no idea what school I want to go to. These visits will be important, then it will come down to just how I feel.
“I will talk it over with my family after the visits and see which school is the best fit for me. It is about where I feel most at home and where I feel the most comfortable.”
Hobbs raved about his visit to Tennessee over the weekend. He feels the Vols have the best fan base in the country. Alabama and Georgia have his attention because of his connection with the staffs and their NFL production in recent years.
