5-star DL Jahkeem Stewart meets head coach Brian Kelly on LSU visit
Reserve (La.) Edna Karr five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart is officially visiting the in-state program this weekend as LSU hosts SEC rival Alabama.
On the visit, Stewart was photographed greeting Tigers head coach Brian Kelly.
Stewart reclassified to the 2025 recruiting class in October and is now taking his official visits as the cycle winds down. After this weekend’s OV to LSU, Stewart is set to take official visits to USC and Ohio State. He took his OV to Oregon on Oct. 12.
The 6-foot-5.5, 270-pound Stewart told On3’s Chad Simmons last week that there were two teams separating from the rest of the pack.
“All four schools have a chance, but two schools are starting to create some separation on my list,” Stewart told On3. “I have to go on these last visits and see where my heart is. This is my last opportunity, so I want to spend time with the coaches, see how they coach in big games and see how the teams play. So many things matter to me.”
“I’m very interested in the schools on my list because they have great opportunities for me on and off the field. So many things will matter in my final decision.”

Jahkeem Stewart Recruit Profile
Stewart is the nation’s No. 15 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 defensive lineman in the class and the top recruit from Louisiana.
On3’s scouting and rankings team writes this about Stewart as a prospect.
“Physically-gifted defensive lineman with a high-end combination of twitch and technical ability at an early stage. Has a naturally big frame, measuring in at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Has plus length for the position with arms that measure over 34 inches along with 10.75-inch hands. Put his name on the national radar with a number of impressive camp performances as a high school underclassman. Missed his freshman season due to a transfer. Has looked dominant in the camp setting. Flashes advanced technique despite his lack of varsity experience.
“Uses quick hands to easily disengage. Has a nasty straight arm that he uses to walk offensive linemen back to the quarterback. More of a straight line athlete who is at his best moving forward. Will need to improve his lateral agility as he has some stiffness when moving side to side. Will also need to transfer his skills on to Friday nights as he gets varsity experience.”
