5-star EDGE Rodney Dunham names top five schools

Charlotte Myers Park five-star EDGE Rodney Dunham continues to work towards his college decision. He’s now down to a top five.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Sunday that Duke, Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina are his top schools.
Dunham is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 3 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in North Carolina.
On3 ranks Dunham higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 7 recruit in the 2026 On300.

Last month, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong gave the latest on Dunham’s recruitment. Each of the five finalists continue to be in good position and will battle throughout the year to try and land the five-star’s pledge.
“Moving into the Top 10 as On3’s No. 7 ranked prospect nationally, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Dunham is high on South Carolina, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Duke and Georgia. The Charlotte (NC) Myers Park standout is working to get up to South Bend this spring and the Irish are a major contender,” Wiltfong wrote.
“The Gamecocks and Vols have had Dunham on campus several times and both programs have had buzz around them. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Dunham get on Georgia’s campus this spring as well.”
Rodney Dunham Scouting Summary
On3 writes this of Dunham as a prospect:
“Athletic pass rusher with the skill set and functional movement skills that point to a high upside. Measured at around 6-foot-4, 215 pounds with good length as a junior. Lines up on the edge for his high school team, rushing the passer out of two and three-point stances. Limber athlete who has very smooth movements. Displays outstanding get-off, bursting off the snap. Has excellent curvilinear movement skills, showing the ability to accelerate while rounding the edge. Dips his shoulder to shirk contact with offensive tackles. Closes quickly on ball carriers once in the backfield. Play speed is evident as he stalks down ball carriers from behind. Shows burgeoning power at the point of attack, shedding offensive linemen once engaged. Will need to continue developing from a physical and technical standpoint. Could stand to improve his production. A younger prospect for the cycle, turning 18 years old in July before his freshman season of college football.”
