5-Star Plus+ DL Lebbeus Overton announcing commitment Friday
Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Lebbeus Overton is the top remaining uncommitted 2022 prospect. But that will not be for much longer. Overton is going to announce his college commitment Friday at 3 p.m. EST on ESPN2 during halftime of the Geico High School Basketball Nationals, On3’s Chad Simmons reports.
He reclassified from the 2023 class in early February while announcing a top five of Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M.
But Simmons says it is down to the Bulldogs, Ducks and Aggies.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has Texas A&M as the heavy favorites to land Overton at 96.4%. Overton was in College Station this past weekend for a visit. He also visited Oregon and Georgia earlier this month with had planned to visit to Ohio State and Oklahoma in April.
Texas A&M already has the No. 1 class in the 2022 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking with 29 commits, eight of whom are five-star prospects. The lone three-star commit in the group is Mead (Wash.) Mt Spokane kicker Ethan Moczulski.

The class is already the top class ever by the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, according to On3’s Jeremy Crabtree. Adding another five-star to the mix will likely just further solidify their claim at the top.
Overton is the No. 8 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also one of eight Five-Star Plus+ prospects in the class.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $35k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
