5-star recruits in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking

Following the latest rankings releases from On3 and other recruiting services, the On3 Industry Ranking has updated and so have the 5-star recruits in it.

As the 2025 cycle begins to kick into gear, the On3 Industry Ranking currently features 20 5-stars to reflect the numbers of players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The On3 Industry Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. It is also the industry’s most advanced, complete and unbiased measurement.

It weights the primary recruiting media services based on past performance data, and overall scouting and recruiting coverage investment. For football, the algorithm is weighted as follows: On3 (35%), 247Sports (35%), Rivals.com (20%) and ESPN (10%). 

After the latest updates, those 20 prospects are listed below:

1. QB Bryce Underwood – LSU commit

Scouting Summary: “Bryce Underwood is the early top quarterback prospect in the 2025 cycle. A top arm talent and plus athlete who is among the more physically-gifted quarterback prospects in recent cycles. Measured at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds with a 10-inch hand the spring after his sophomore season. Owns a big-time arm with the ability to drive the ball with velocity to all levels of the field. Throws a very tight spiral that amplifies the velocity on the tail of his passes. Has shown advanced nuance and skill as a passer early on. Comfortable delivering over the middle of the field from within the pocket. Consistently sticks the ball on receivers against tight coverage. Shows the ability to layer passes with touch and high-level location.

…Doubles as a run threat with the ability to make defenders miss and pull away at the second level. Has a 27-1 record as as a starter over the first two years of his high school career, leading his school to back-to-back state titles. Completed 65% of his passes for 2,751 yards and 37 touchdowns as a sophomore. Also rushed for 642 yards and eight scores. Very young for the cycle with an August birthday and could technically be a 2026 prospect. Has considerable physical upside and room for continued growth.”

2. OT David Sanders

Scouting Summary: “David Sanders is a twitchy, explosive jumbo athlete who looks like one of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 cycle early on. A two-way star for Providence Chrisitian in Charlotte as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. Has a tall, lean frame, measuring in at around 6-foot-5.5, 250 pounds. Registers as a top athlete, excelling in the combine setting. Transfers that athleticism over to the field. An electric mover for an underclassman offensive line prospect. Explodes to the second level and moves effortlessly in space. Plays much stronger than his lighter weight would suggest. Has developed upper body and core strength to plant defenders into the ground. Flashes some dominant tendencies as a drive blocker and finisher. Runs his feet on contact and plays with some nastiness. Relatively advanced technically. Also shows off his athleticism as a defensive lineman. Would be an easy Power 5 prospect on that side of the ball. Also shows his functional strength in track and field, where he’s a standout in the shot put, with an outstanding personal best of 53-3.5 feet as a sophomore. Will need to continue adding mass, as he is relatively lean and does not have an overly wide frame. Older for the class, turning 17 years-old as a sophomore.”

3. WR Dakorien Moore – LSU commit

Scouting Summary: “Dakorien Moore is a skilled receiver with a well-rounded skill set who stars for one of the tip high school programs in the state of Texas. Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds prior to his junior season. Touts top speed on the track, running a wind-aided 10.63 mark in the 100 meters as a sophomore. Shows a refined and well-rounded skill set as a receiver both on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Has the long speed to separate deep and take the top off of defenses. Shifty after the catch and uses his field vision to find open space, sometimes cutting back across the field. Looks to have plus ball skills, with the ability to make acrobatic catches. Shows reliable, strong hands at the catch point in the camp setting. Turned in a good sophomore season for the Texas state champions, catching 44 passes for 767 yards and seven touchdowns.”

4. DL Elijah Griffin

Scouting Summary: “Elijah Griffin is a highly athletic, disruptive defensive lineman who looks like the top defensive prospect in the 2025 cycle early on. Measured at 6-foot-3.5, 270 pounds with a 10-inch hand prior to his sophomore season. Has the size of an interior defensive lineman with the high-end twitch and athleticism of a top pass rusher. Flies off the snap and darts into the backfield to create disruption with regularity. A very loose and fluid athletic, particularly at his size. Plays with outstanding leverage and body lean. Shows advanced hands at the point of attack and quickly neutralizes offensive linemen. Has the speed in pursuit to track down running backs from the back side. Phenomenal production as a sophomore with 14.5 sacks and 30 tackles for loss. Shows his functional strength and short area explosion in track and field, where he threw the shot put over 50 feet as a sophomore. Projects as a top defensive lineman with the ability to line up and disrupt from multiple spots on a defensive front.

5. CB Na’eem Offord – Ohio State commit

Scouting Summary: “Na’eem Offord is a twitchy, highly coordinated athlete who projects as one of the top defensive back prospects in the 2025 cycle. Has plus stature and length, measuring in at close to 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. Registered as one of the top athletes on the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Is a two-way star on Friday nights, making plays on offense as a receiver and ball carrier while doubling as a cornerback. Rarely tested on defense, but shows his considerable athleticism and plus ball skills on offense. Very fluid and surprisingly polished in defensive back drills in the camp setting. Looks to have notable upside at defensive back once he focuses on the position full-time.”

6. CB Devin Sanchez – Ohio State commit

Scouting Summary: “Devin Sanchez is a tall, athletic cornerback with a high level of technical skill as an underclassman prospect. Stars for one of the top high school football programs in the state of Texas. Listed at an unverified 6-foot-2, 170 pounds. Took a big jump as a sophomore, showing lockdown tendencies, particularly in man coverage. Smooth and technical with the footwork, instincts and play speed to stay attached. Makes some impressive plays in downfield coverage. Turned in some strong track times as a sophomore, with a personal best of 10.81 seconds in the 100 meters. Looks to have one of the best size and speed combinations among cornerbacks early on in the 2025 cycle. Will need to continue adding good mass and strength in addition to continuing to develop his already solid ball skills.”

7. CB DJ Pickett

Scouting Summary: “DJ Pickett is a dynamic, explosive two-way playmaker who looks like one of the top defensive back prospects in the 2025 cycle. A big-time two-way player as a receiver and defensive back. Has a thin, lean frame at over 6-foot-2 and around 170 pounds. An extremely twitchy athlete who also excels in track and field. Turned in sensational marks in the 100 meters (10.62 seconds) and 200 meters (21.69 seconds) as a sophomore. A natural playmaker on Friday nights. Pairs his plus athleticism and easy movement skills with high level instincts and ball skills. Has elite range as a deep safety. Reads and jumps routes to make plays on the ball. Doubles as a game-breaking receiver with the ability to take the top off of defenses and come down with acrobatic contested catches. Finished his sophomore season with 43 catches for 886 yards and 12 touchdowns in addition to picking off four passes. Ranked as a safety early on, but could be a legitimate high-end cornerback prospect or even play some offense in college. A bit for the cycle, with a May birthday. Will need to continue adding good mass to his leaner frame.”

8. DL Justus Terry – Georgia commit

Scouting Summary: “Justus Terry has a tremendous frame and build for an interior defensive line prospect. Stands in at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds with excellent weight distribution throughout his frame. Wins with first step and lateral quickness, has rare get off and leverage for a player of his stature. Quality bend and ability to change direction, comfortable in space. Uses his length to initiate contact consistently and sheds blockers with ease. Able to anchor and two-gap if asked to in run support. Will need to continue to fill out and gain functional play strength at the next level. Should be able to carry an extra 20-30 pounds on his frame. High upside prospect who will be in consideration for a first round selection in the NFL Draft.”

9. QB Julian Lewis – USC commit

Scouting Summary: “Julian Lewis is a polished signal caller who turned in the most productive freshman season among 2026 quarterbacks. Has been touted as a high-profile prospect, earning offers as a middle schooler. Measured in at around 6-foot-0.5, 185 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand prior to his sophomore season. Turned in a strong freshman campaign, completing 65.5% of his passes for over 4,100 yards and 48 touchdowns against 12 interceptions while leading his team to a state title appearance. Played well while facing some of the strongest competition among 2026 quarterbacks. Has advanced accuracy and overall polish at this early stage. Very consistent on a throw to throw basis in the camp setting. Shows the ability to locate passes to several areas, including over the middle of the field.

…Shows nice touch and ability to layer the football. Navigates the pocket well, sliding up to elude pass rushers. Can make defenders miss in space. Has plenty of time to continue growing, but is not overly physically imposing at this stage. Flashes a good arm, but his upside as a pure, top arm talent remains to be seen. Can also continue improving as a creative playmaker as he gets more varsity experience.

10. RB Harlem Berry – LSU commit

Scouting Summary: “Harlem Berry is the most electric running back in the 2025 cycle. Possesses elite burst and effortless movement skills. Measured in at over 5-foot-10 and around 180 pounds prior to his junior season. Registers as a high end athlete with elite speed on the track and in the combine setting. Won state titles in the 100 and 200 meters as a sophomore with times of 10.57 seconds and 21.43 seconds, respectively. Most importantly, transfers his outstanding top end speed onto the field in a functional way. A threat to take it to the house on any touch. A light, springy mover who shifts gears and changes directions at full speed. Displays outstanding vision. Reads blocks and bursts through the line to the second level. The game moves slow for him at the prep level.

…Runs through contact and shows balance that belies his size. Catches the ball well out of the backfield and projects as a viable option on passing downs. Highly productive as a sophomore, rushing for 2,237 yards and 37 touchdowns at 11.5 yards per carry and is continuing to play at a high level midway through his junior season. Does not have an overly large frame and will need to continue adding good mass in order to carry a substantial load at the next level. Has a later birthday for the cycle, turning 17 years old in late May of his junior year.”

11. OT Michael Fasusi

Scouting Summary: “Michael Fasusi is a strong, physical offensive tackle with a high developmental upside. Measured in at around 6-foot-5 and close to 300 pounds prior to his junior season. Added significant size during the off-season between his sophomore and junior years. Has plus length for the position and a well-proportioned build. Registers as a solid athlete in the combine setting. Also showing encouraging improvement on the field as a junior, adding play strength. Latches onto defensive linemen and keeps his feet moving on contact. Gets a considerable push at the point of attack. Plays with an edge and works to finish blocks with authority. Shows good lateral quickness and plays with an improved base and balance. Also participates in track and field, sporting a personal best throw of 46-10 feet in the shot put as a sophomore, a strong mark. Needs to work on his pass set technique but has the baseline skills to be a solid pass protector with coaching and work. Younger for the cycle, turning 17 years old in the summer prior to his senior season.”

12. OT Ty Haywood

Scouting Summary: “Ty Haywood is an explosive, powerful offensive tackle with high-end traits for the position. Measured in at around 6-foot-5, 280 pounds prior to his junior season. Owns plus length and projects as a tackle long-term. Shows encouraging movement skills in the camp setting. Doubles as a standout in track and field with a stellar 54-6.75 shot put throw as a sophomore. Transfers those physical attributes over to the field in a functional way. Works at left tackle for Denton Ryan, one of the top talent-producing high school programs in North Texas. Flashes very strong hands, stunning defensive linemen with his initial punch. Has strong grip strength and maintains his blocks. A bully in the run game. Shows good reactive quickness with moving laterally. Plays with a sturdy base and shows the ability to anchor on contact. Will need to continue honing his pass set technique and moving his feet once engaged.

13. WR Caleb Cunningham

Scouting Summary: “Caleb Cunningham is a bouncy outside receiver with the upside to become a skilled ball-winner. Listed at an unverified 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. Moves well at that size. Shows the ability to come down with catches in contested situations. Naturally coordinated and can locate the football at its highest point. Also shows some ability to make defenders miss after the catch. Doubles as a fantastic high school basketball player who lives above the rim, throwing down dunks with regularity. Also posted strong marks in the high jump (6-0 feet) and triple jump (43-4.25 feet) as a freshman. Has considerable natural ability but will need to hone his technical skill at the position over the final few years of high school football. Could stand to be more productive. Plays at a smaller high school and doesn’t face top competition.”

14. QB George MacIntyre – Tennessee commit

Scouting Summary: “George MacIntyre is a tall signal caller with strong projectable tools as a passer and playmaker. Touts a tight, compact throwing motion with little moving parts. The release is whippy quick. Flashes good arm strength, with the ability to flick passes out to the boundary and downfield. Mechanical foundation points to a baseline level of accuracy. A bouncy, light-footed mover within the pocket. Avoids pressure in the backfield, stepping up in the pocket. Capable of making high-level second-reaction plays. Has strong improvisational skills. Shows a long stride in the open field. Doubles as a high-level high school basketball player and received high major looks as an underclassman. Plays a tough schedule, but does not have the production or efficiency typical of an elite quarterback prospect. High school team struggled in his junior season. Will need to continue making strides as a player on Friday night and adding weight to his frame, but has the potential to be one of the top quarterbacks to come out of the 2025 cycle.”

15. IOL Solomon Thomas – Florida State commit

Scouting Take: “Solomon Thomas is a big, long, physical offensive lineman. A guy who is capable of playing multiple spots along the offensive front – we project him on the interior. And he is one who emerged around this time last year as a national prospect. His combination of length and play strength projects really well, and he’s a guy who plays with a physical edge. He has some nastiness to him and is above-average in pass pro, particularly as an interior prospect.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

16. CB Dorian Brew – Ohio State commit

Scouting Take: “Dorian Brew came on the scene as a playmaking wide receiver and defensive back before really emerging as a true corner prospect. He has outstanding size and speed, in terms of physique he’s close to 200 pounds and consistently runs sub 11 seconds in the 100 meters. He has an elite pedigree with his both of his parents being sprinters and his dad being an Olympic medalist. His ball skills are ahead of the curve given his receiver background and his speed is apparent as well, and he has shown improvement as a corner playing there full-time during his junior season.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

17. LB Zayden Walker

Scouting Summary: “Zayden Walker flashes a high-end combination of on-field athleticism and functional play strength. Lines up in both two and three-point stances off the edge. Shows noticeable first-step quickness off the snap. Very strong at the point of attack. Plays with excellent leverage and uses his strong lower body to move offensive linemen both as a bull rusher and run defender. Makes some eye-popping plays in pursuit, showcasing high-end athleticism in tracking down ball carriers from the back side. Doubles as a dangerous running back, using his athleticism and strength to pick up yards after contact. Helped his team to a state title appearance as a sophomore.”

18. LB Jonah Williams

Scouting Summary: “Jonah Williams is a rangy linebacker prospect who is a menace in space. Has the long speed and fluidity to function in space as a zone or man defender in the passing game. Excellent frame and build for an inside linebacker. Measured in at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds during summer campus visits and has plenty of room to fill out. Tested well in explosive drills during camp settings. Impressive baseball prospect as well as a pitcher and outfielder. Sideline to sideline speed is easy for him, covers ground in a hurry. One of the more physically impressive recruits in the 2025 recruiting cycle. High upside prospect whose best football is ahead of him.”

19. WR Kaliq Lockett

Scouting Summary: “When you’re talking about Kaliq Lockett, you’re talking about a guy with immense upside and potential. He’s a prototypical outside receiver, your old-school X wideout like Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, AJ Green. He has a phenomenal physical profile, stands 6-foot-2, 180-plus pounds with a huge wingspan and hand size to go up and win 50/50 balls consistently. He’s big-bodied and not afraid to go over the middle to take contested catches, and he has the skill set of an elite-pass catcher with a big catch radius. He is as explosive as any receiver prospect in the country this cycle.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout

20. OT Andrew Babalola

Scouting Summary: “Andrew Babalola is an immensely gifted offensive tackle who has the physical traits and athletic ability to develop into one of the top prospects at the position in the 2025 cycle. New to football, playing his first year of varsity action as a junior, previously being a basketball-first athlete. Measured in at over 6-foot-5, 280 pounds with arms over 34 inches prior to his junior season. A naturally flexible athlete. Has a flat back in his stance and plays low, sinking his hips to drive up through defenders. A strong functional mover. Moves well and shows light feet. Has advanced balance and shows a strong base, playing with his feet rooted in the ground. Shows surprising and borderline startling play strength for a developmental tackle. Consistently manhandles defensive linemen at the point of attack. Sustains blocks with his strong grip strength and often finishes with authority, planting defensive linemen in the dirt. Shows an encouraging level of physicality and nastiness. Will need to continue honing his overall technique, particularly in pass protection. Just scratching the surface of his considerable potential and could challenge as the top tackle in the 2025 cycle with continued development.”

Prospects currently in 5-star range

By the next set of rankings updates in April, the On3 Industry Ranking will feature 32 five-star prospects, matching the number of first-round picks taken in the NFL Draft. These 12 prospects are next up among those in contention for a bump later this spring.
