The beginning of July is set to be a busy one for many of the nation’s top uncommitted prospects. Add Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan to the list.

On Wednesday evening, Morgan told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s locked in his commitment date. He’ll announce his college decision on July 2, choosing between Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, Florida and Georgia.

Morgan is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 2 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Alabama.

The elite pass-catcher is set to begin his official visit schedule this weekend at Colorado. He’ll then see each of his other finalists again for OVs — UGA (May 16), Clemson (May 30), UF (June 6), Auburn (June 13) and Bama (June 20) — before revealing his decision.

“I am taking my time with everything,” Morgan told On3’s Chad Simmons back in the fall. “A lot of schools are recruiting me hard, so many are making me feel like a top priority and it is great to hear from schools every day…”

“I don’t care if I stay in state or go out of state. I am going to take my time, sort things out and see where I need to be. Communication is really big for me. Playing for coaches that can help me get to the next level is big too.”

Alabama and Auburn fighting to keep Morgan home

Alabama is currently trending to keep Morgan in the Yellowhammer State, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and Auburn insider Cole Pinkston have each logged picks in favor of the Crimson Tide landing Morgan’s pledge, though a crucial few weeks await.

“Mainly Coach (JaMarcus) Shephard,” Morgan previously told BamaOnLine of why Alabama stands out. “Me and Coach Shep have a great relationship, he has a great relationship with my family as well. I kind of looked at the receiver room, and if I did decide to go there, by the time I get there I could have a good chance of getting on the field early. Most of their receivers now are probably gonna be leaving when I come in.”

Auburn has continues to push hard, too. Morgan was back on The Plains this spring and receivers coach Marcus Davis has the Tigers firmly in the mix entering the summer.

“Like I said, the communication with me and Coach Davis. He’s been recruiting me since my freshman year. I feel like the communication and connection will always be there whether I come to Auburn or not, I feel like I can talk to Coach Davis about anything,” Morgan told Auburn Live.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is one of the country’s most dynamic playmakers at his size, hauling in 106 catches for 1,784 yards and 18 touchdowns for Russell over the past two seasons.
