7-foot center Adrame Diongue names top 8 schools

Adrame Diongue, a top-100 prospect in the 2022 class, tells On3 he’s down to eight programs – Kansas, Texas, Texas Tech, Illinois, UNLV, Maryland, Oregon State, and Washington State.
Originally from Senegal, West Africa, Diongue has only been playing basketball for three years. He’s attended a few different high schools but now attends AZ Compass Prep, which boasts a loaded roster.
- Colin Smith (Vanderbilt)
- Marquis Cook (5-star junior)
- Chance Westry (Auburn)
- Dylan Andrews (UCLA)
- Lamar Washington (Texas Tech)
- Kylan Boswell (5-star junior)
- Sadraque Nganga (4-star senior)
Diongue is ranked as the No. 95 overall recruit in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The four-star big man has yet to take any college visits, but he recently spoke to On3’s Jamie Shaw and said he’d like to visit Kansas, Texas, Illinois, and Texas Tech. Diongue broke down those four schools with Shaw last week.
Diongue talks schools
Kansas: “I really like them because they know how to develop a big. I also like how they use their bigs.”
Illinois: “They play the same way I play. A lot of pick and rolls, lobs, everything post up around the basket.”

Texas: “I like the way they play overall. Last year they had two or three bigs who went to the NBA, and from what I have seen this year, I think they are doing a great job.”
Texas Tech: “They play great defense; I like that. They know how to play with the bigs in the pick and roll too.”
“I run the floor well, grab rebounds and block everything,” Diongue told On3. “I’m reading the game better now and showing more on offense. I watch Kevin Garnett, the way he tries to dunk the ball every time he touches it; I’m trying to do that…I grew up playing soccer. Soccer helped me with being able to get up and down the floor and with my quickness and defense.”
Scouting Report
On3’s Jamie Shaw recently evaluated Diongue and spoke highly about the four-star big man’s potential:
There is something about a player who continues to improve each time they step on the floor. Adrame Diongue is like a blank canvas right now, and all the tools are available. Diongue has good size and length; he is extremely mobile, with excellent timing. The 7-footer has touch from the free-throw line and is developing a face-up game. He will need to continue getting stronger and working on his offensive repertoire, but the strides he continues to make are very promising.
