The 2025 On3 150 player rankings have been updated. This is the ninth update for this class, debuting a top 50 in September of 2022 and expanding that 50 to 75 in March of 2023. We first broadened our 2025 class rankings to a full 150 in July of 2023, and this is our seventh update since fully expanding the list. This February 2025 update is based on 1) in-person evaluations through January of the high school season and 2) continued film study and intel on prospects.

Updated 2025 Player Rankings

Since the last update in November, with numerous showcases and events taking place every week(end), On3 has gone to live events/viewings while also collecting streams to comb through the film as we ensure the maximum exposure of countless events and players.

The ranking process is a continual and often fluid one. On3 starts ranking recruits after their freshman-year travel season, prior to the start of their sophomore high school seasons. That recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played.

We have spent the last several weeks working on this 2025 update so that it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. This work has resulted in 13 players making their debut in the 2025 On3 150. We also have players represented in our 2025 ratings from five of the seven continents across the world. Our national team has continued collecting data on the previously ranked players, to consistently get as many viewings through the 2025 On3 150 ranking process.

These players are coming down the home stretch of their senior year high school basketball seasons. Our next ranking update, after the senior all-star events, is scheduled to be the final update for the 2025 recruiting cycle. With that said, there is still some basketball to be played before this class cycle ends.

The goal of the basketball rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we continue forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will outweigh the earlier rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.

Updated 2025 Player Rankings

Here are some storylines from On3’s seventh update of a full 150 for the 2025 class.

Grading the 2025 On3 150

The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: Five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, and 80-89 grades are for three stars.

The first nine prospects in this update are five stars with a rating of 98 or higher. The players ranked No. 10 through 110 are classified as four-star prospects with grades from 90-97. The remainder of the 150 and the position rankings are considered three-star prospects.

Our goal is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential, ultimately manifested by the NBA Draft. The goal of the ranking is not to assess who had the best high school career or who will be the best college player. This is why we will shoot to end each cycle with 14 five-star prospects following the lead of the NBA Draft Lottery. The vision is draft night.

AJ Dybantsa continues as the No. 1 player in the 2025 class

To this point in the 2025 recruiting cycle, AJ Dybantsa has been the top player in each ranking update he has been a part of. The 6-foot-9 wing started his journey as part of the 2026 recruiting cycle, where he debuted as the No. 1 player. When Dybantsa reclassified into the 2025 class, in October of 2023, he was immediately slotted into the top spot of the class.

With each update that has passed, there has not been much conversation at the top of the class, with Dybantsa continuing to hold serve. The positives are plentiful when scouting Dybantsa’s game, especially as you look toward his potential archetype pathways at the highest levels of basketball. Dybantsa has ample positional size as a wing, listed at 6-foot-9. He has a projectable frame with great length and twitchy athleticism.

With the ball, Dybantsa can create an advantage off the bounce, using an attacking dribble with a quick first step. He also has good footwork with the ball, able to create clean looks in the half-court from each level of the floor. Dybantsa has shooting touch that extends beyond the three-point arc, and he projects to be an even better shot-maker as he continues to work through his balance points while creating opportunities off movement.

Dybantsa has consistently produced numbers at the highest levels of competition, including high school, EYBL, and international competitions. With his frame and skill set, he still has some ceiling to grow into as well.

The remainder of the high school regular season is still in play. We also have high school playoffs and the post-season all-star games. The conversation for the No. 1 spot in the most recent 2025 On3 150 update did not go as quickly as the previous discussions did. While Dybantsa remains at the top of the list, others are catching up to him. This season has shown a tier of players separating themselves from their peers at the top of this class. Players like Cam Boozer, Nate Ament, Darryn Peterson, Caleb Wilson, and Chris Cenac each project favorably when you look toward the highest levels of basketball. As we continue toward the final class of 2025 ranking update, it should be fun to evaluate and see how things shake out in the end.

Alijah Arenas and Braydon Burries earn fifth stars

A pair of California-based guards, Alijah Arenas, and Brayden Burries, make their debut as five-star players in the updated 2025 On3 150 rankings.

Arenas, the son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, announced he was reclassifying from the 2026 class into the 2025 class this past January. This season the 6-foot-5 guard is averaging 31.8 points on 54.8 percent shooting for Chatsworth (CA) High. Arenas is coming off a strong showing at the USA Basketball Junior National Team mini-camp and proved his scoring chops in the Adidas 3SSB Circuit 17U Finale averaging 21.7 points on 48.0 percent shooting from three for the week. Arenas debuted in the 2025 On3 150 at No. 10 when he reclassified in January and moved to No. 7 in this recent update.

Burries averaged 28.4 points on 55.0 percent shooting through his first 23 games for his Eastvale (CA) Roosevelt High team. The 6-foot-5 guard toggles between the lead and off-guard roles, playing a poised game with strength, positional size, and skill. He has led his high school team to a No. 3 spot in On3’s industry high school basketball rankings. Burries jumped from No. 13 to No. 8 in the most recent ranking update.

Both players were recently named to the 2025 McDonald’s All-American game. Arenas has committed to USC and Burries remains uncommitted.
