A late visit changed Jordan Allen's mindset, he's staying home with LSU
Going into the last weekend before the early signing period, Lafayette (La.) Lafayette Christian Academy safety Jordan Allen was thinking he would end up somewhere like Georgia, Louisville, or Ole Miss.
New LSU head coach Brian Kelly came into his school and offered the four-star safety late last week. That got Allen to Baton Rouge for an official visit, and that changed Allen’s mindset.
“Everything changed on the official visit,” Allen told On3. “The old staff at LSU wasn’t too big on me I guess. As soon as coach Kelly got there though, he offered, and he took a chance on me.
“I knew that was big, but then on the visit, I knew I was going to LSU. When I met with coach Kelly, I learned a lot about him. I got to know him, he is a great guy, and that was it. I wanted to play for him and LSU.”
Coach Kelly has a plan and the new leader in Baton Rouge could not have made a stronger first impression on Allen.
“Coach Kelly is very straight forward, honest, and real. He is all about the players graduating from LSU and winning championships.

“He made me feel at home. Coach Kelly made a strong impression on me and I love the opportunity he has given me.”
One big family for Jordan Allen at LSU
Allen already has family in Baton Rouge. Malik Nabors and Sage Ryan are cousins, and Allen feels like this class will be one big family that helps get the Tigers back to the top.
“We all know each other in this recruiting class,” Allen said. “We are family and we are going to play for each other, fight for each other, and win championships together.
“I am going to bring that energy and be a leader for the LSU Tigers. I get chills just thinking about it. LSU will get my all.”
