A new calendar year brings an updated 2026 On3 150 ranking
On Monday, On3 updated its class of 2026 player rankings for the fifth time. This is the third update for the 2026 class to have a full 150 players. The movement and additions are based on 1) in-person player evaluations from the high school season and 2) film study and intel gathered on prospects since the initial update.
Updated 2026 On3 150 player rankings
Since the last update in October, the On3 team has attended numerous in-season high school showcases and tournaments along with practices, scrimmages, and jamborees. With multiple events taking place every week(end), On3 has also collected streams and film to comb through the maximum exposure of countless events and players.
The ranking process is a continual and often fluid one. On3 starts ranking recruits after their freshman-year travel seasons, prior to their sophomore years of high school. Each recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played.
We have spent the last several weeks working on this 2026 update so that it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. This work has resulted in 15 players making their debuts in the latest On3 150 update. We have also continued collecting viewings and data on the previously ranked players, putting eyes on them since the previous update.
These prospects are about halfway through their junior seasons of high school. Our next class update for 2026 will come after state high school tournaments end, and prior to the start of the travel ball live periods.
The goal of rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we continue forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will outweigh the earlier rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.
Here are some storylines from On3’s first update of the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Grading the 2026 On3 100
The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, and 80-89 grades are for three stars.
The first four prospects are five starts with a rating of 98 or higher. The players ranked No. 5 to 110 are classified as four-star prospects with grades from 90-97. The remainder of the 100 and position rankings are considered three-star prospects.
Our goal is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential, ultimately manifested by the NBA Draft. The goal of the ranking is not to assess who had the best high school career or who will be the best college player. This is why we will shoot to end each cycle with 14 five-star prospects, following the lead of the NBA Draft Lottery. Our vision, as we end each cycle is draft night.
Tyran Stokes takes over No. 1 spot
On3’s initial 2026 class rankings debuted in September of 2023 with AJ Dybantsa in the No. 1 spot. When Dybantsa reclassified into the 2025 class and moved into that cycle’s No. 1 position, Brandon McCoy took over the top spot in On3’s 2026 cycle. And for the last three class of 2026 ranking updates, McCoy has remained in the top spot.
For the January 2025 update, Tyran Stokes‘ play has earned his position at the top of the class. Stokes is a powerfully built 6-foot-7 wing forward. He is explosive around the basket and when he is playing aggressively, he is a load to keep out of the paint.
Stokes transferred to Sherman Oaks (CA) Notre Dame for his junior season after averaging 20.4 points playing up in the 17u division on Nike’s EYBL Circuit this summer. Through his first ten games of the high school season, Stokes is averaging 24.1 points. The five-star’s team has gone 8-2 with him this season and scored 20 or more points in nine of his ten games played.
With former class of 2026 five-star Alijah Arenas announcing he is reclassifying into the 2025 class, Christian Collins added his fifth star while Caleb Holt and Brandon McCoy both retained all five of their stars. Stokes is currently in a tier by himself as the only 99-rated player in this class, with the other three five-star prospects carrying 98 ratings. McCoy dropped in this latest ranking because of his inconsistent play leading into a leg injury that has kept him out during this high school season. It will be interesting to watch over the next few months how these players continue to develop and if they can apply pressure to Stokes for the No. 1 spot in the class.
Christian Collins adds fifth star and jumps to No. 2
Christian Collins added a fifth star and jumped to No. 2 overall in the most recent 2026 On3 150 ranking update. The 6-foot-8 wing at Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco has continued to take steps in his game, layering productive pieces on top of his impressive natural gifts.
Collins is the son of former McDonald’s All-American Deangelo Collins. He is a 6-foot-8 wing forward with fluid athleticism and natural length. The newly minted five-star is developing his handle from the wing and the jump shot continues to improve as a weapon from multiple levels.

Collins made his rankings debut for On3 in the July 2024 update. Our first live viewing of Collins was in April of 2024 when his natural tools immediately caught our eye. Keeping track of his numbers and tracking film, our follow-up live viewing at the June 2024 Pangos All-American Camp showed his tools, plus continued development in a short period of time. The July 2024 update was the first in the cycle where On3 expanded it rankings to a full list of 150 names. While Collins was unranked across the industry at this time, he debuted at No. 19 for On3 in this update. In the post-July live period update for the 2026 recruiting cycle (October 2024), Collins moved from No. 19 to No. 6. After a transfer to St. John’s Bosco and a half high school season played, he now jumps from No. 6 to No. 2 overall.
When looking at the long-term projection of players, Collins carries an intriguing intersection of natural tools, current production, and remaining ceiling for growth. He has the athletic makeup, with fluidity and burst, along with positional size, and natural shooting touch. He is going to have to continue tightening his base of tools as he continues to add weight. But Collins is on a steep upward trajectory at this point in his developmental arc, and he has tools that are coveted at the highest levels of the game.
Dylan Mingo is the top PG in the update
Long Island (NY) Lutheran’s Dylan Mingo debuted in On3’s initial 2026 class ranking – September of 2023 – as the class’s No. 1 overall point guard. The 6-foot-4 Mingo has survived all four updates in this cycle, remaining in the top spot for each.
Not only does Mingo have the positional size coveted at the point of attack, but the cycle’s No. 9 overall player also has natural instincts and feel. He has a crafty handle and the pace to get into the teeth of the defense and make a read. Not only does he elevate the floor of each team he is on, but he also raises the ceiling. Mingo is an excellent defender, collecting deflections throughout the course of a game. The jump shot form is different, but he is making it this season.
Behind Mingo, while there was a little movement in the overall ranking of players, but their position among the point guard group remained consistent.
1. Dylan Mingo, Long Island (NY) Lutheran
2. Ikenna Alozie, Glendale (AZ) Dream City Christian
3. DeRon Rippey, Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy
4. Tay Kinney, Atlanta (GA) Overtime Elite
5. Miles Sadler, Phoenix (AZ) CIA Bella Vista
