With the summer dead period coming to an end this week, recruiting in the junior cycle begins to tick up a notch. Many of the top 2026 prospects are getting back on the road in the coming days to continue their process.

That includes Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, one of the top athletes in the nation. The impressive 6-foot-2, 170-pounder is visiting Texas A&M on Friday before heading home for another visit at Georgia on Saturday, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

No school has had Gregory on campus more than the in-state Bulldogs thus far, though a plethora of programs in and around the South have seen the wideout in-person since last fall. A&M had him on campus earlier this year, as did the likes of South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, LSU and Miami.

Gregory is the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 5 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 player in Georgia.

Aggies have caught Gregory’s interest

The new staff in College Station, manned by head coach Mike Elko, has built sturdy relationships with Gregory already. He told On3’s Chad Simmons back in February that the Aggies moved up his list after he logged a visit.

“It’s a football town,” Gregory said. “The people that are around there love football, so it could be cool to go somewhere where they love football because that’s what I’m playing. That stood out.”

“I know some coaches are going to have to compete because I like A&M right now.”

A&M already has two commitments in the 2026 class: Mesquite (Texas) Horn three-star safety Markel Ford and Mesquite North Forney three-star cornerback Ryan Gilbert.

Georgia forging big push for the Peach State WR

The return to Athens this weekend will provide Gregory another chance to strengthen his relationship with new UGA receivers coach James Coley. Former WRs coach Bryan McClendon originally offered the blue-chipper.

Regardless of relationships, Gregory sees the can’t-miss positives of Georgia. The program’s recent dominance is impossible to ignore as the chance to stay home and play for the Bulldogs also piques his interest.

“It’s Georgia. It’s the home state,” Gregory previously told On3. “My bond with the coaches is good and they have recently won national championships. I know they didn’t get it last year, but getting back-to-back titles is crazy.”

In June, Gregory slightly trimmed his offer list to a group of 20 top schools. Much of the SEC is featured, as are the likes of Florida State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan and USC.
