ABC announces date for showdown between Ohio State and Wisconsin
ABC will broadcast matchup between Wisconsin and Ohio State as one of its many marquee college football games in 2022, ESPN announced Monday. Kickoff is set for Sept. 24 in Columbus, Ohio, with the time yet to be announced.
The game was one of several announced on ABC, with the Buckeyes also set to face Notre Dame in the season opener at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 3. You can view the full slate of matchups announced on ABC below.
Ohio State is widely regarded as the favorite out of the Big Ten, with 1/2 odds to take home the conference crown. They return quarterback CJ Stroud, a Heisman finalist from last season, leading receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and leading rusher TreVeyon Henderson. That group helped the Buckeyes finish as the No. 1 offense in the nation this past season, and once again enters as one of the top units on paper.
Wisconsin, on the other hand, has the second-best odds in the conference at 10/1. The Badgers are coming off of a 9-4 finish this past season that included a 9-1 stretch over their final 10 games. Since 2011, they have made six appearances in the Big Ten title game, winning twice. Their last appearance came in 2019 against the Buckeyes, who handed the Badgers a 34-21 loss.

That was also the last meeting between the two schools, so revenge should be fresh on the minds of the Badgers. Throughout the history of the series, Ohio State holds a massive 61-18-5 all-time advantage over Wisconsin. The Buckeyes have won the past eight games, with the Badgers last claiming a victory during the 2010 season.
The Sept. 24 game will also be the first conference matchup for either school. With expectations sky high entering the season for both the Badgers and Buckeyes, we could be looking at a potential Big Ten Championship preview.
