Fast-rising SG Abdou Toure talks Alabama and Oregon as he updates his recruitment
Abdou Toure is the No. 127 overall player in the 2026 On3 150. That number is sure to climb for the 6-foot-5 shooting guard during the next update as the rising junior West Haven (CT) Notre Dame High is one of this Summer’s biggest stock risers.
“I’m a versatile, three-way scorer,” Toure told On3. “I feel like I still got a lot of work to do, but I feel like I can do everything on the floor. I watch a lot of Anthony Edwards, his playstyle and ability to score.”
Toure tied the FIBA U17 World Cup record when he scored 50 points against China this summer. He was 21-27 from the field and 6-11 from three. For the event, Toure averaged 23.0 points, which made the Guinea shooting guard the top overall scorer while shooing 57.4 percent on 16.4 shots per game.
“It was a great experience for me,” Toure said. “I got to play with my home country for the first time, against other new competition and different countries. It was fun. It was good to tie the record for the most points scored in a U17 game, but we lost that game, so, for me, that is what matters. Going out there to Turkey, we had a good team, but we didn’t come away with as many victories as we wanted. It was a great experience. I learned I can compete on that stage and that I got more to work on with my all-around game.”
On3 caught up with shooting guard Abdou Toure after a recent live viewing to discuss the current state of his recruitment.

“I have 12 offers right now,” Toure said. “Right now I have them from Oregon, Alabama, Texas A&M, Providence, Rutgers, Yale, Arizona State, Penn State, Louisville, and some others. I haven’t visited any campuses yet, and I don’t have any visits set coming up. But I’ve talked some with Alabama and Oregon about setting something up.”
Toure talks Alabama & Oregon
ALABAMA: “They like the way I play and my ability to score. They send me a lot of videos of their guards, the actions they put their guards in, and how they work in their system. They give their guards the ball a lot and a lot of freedom to create.”
OREGON: “My relationship is growing with their staff. I talk with a couple of their coaches and they have at least one of their coaches text me each week or so. I like how their guards play and they have had some good ones come through there.”
In Abdou Toure’s words
“I’m going to be looking for a school where my family is going to be able to watch me play,” Toure said. “And a good all-around program, where I feel comfortable. Comfortable with the coaches and comfortable with my teammates in general.”
