Florida State enters ACC Championship game week as a 3.5-point favorite over Louisville, according to FanDuel Sports.

Despite Louisville coming in as an underdog — and coming off its second loss of the season — are the Cardinals worth putting money on, or are the win-and-your-in Seminoles going to be College Football Playoff bound?

“The line tells you that it’s fairly even,” Staples said. “I think [Mike] Norvell is a hell of a coach. I thought Florida State should not have struggled with Florida the way they did. It did feel like that Mike Norville, and Tate Roddemaker were on a little better wavelength … It felt, offensively, like okay, now I understand how to get the ball to the weapons with this quarterback. Because you saw Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, all of a sudden we’re doing more.”

Despite FSU’s struggles against Florida, they at least won the game to keep their playoff hopes alive. The same cannot be said of Louisville, who lost to rival Kentucky 38-31 at home.

Patrick Meagher, a co-host of The Lombardi Line on VSiN and The Sports Betting Network, joined Staples to discuss the 3.5-point line — saying that it all comes down to Florida State combating the inevitable Brohm magic that seems to follow him everywhere he goes where he wins games he is supposed to lose, and loses games he ought to win.

“This one is hard for me because of the Brohm factor,” Meagher told Staples. “It will say this, … I’ve been stale on them, but you nailed it. The numbers telling you, and I guarantee I can text the sharp guys I know in Vegas, they’re all over Louisville in this matchup.”

Whether Louisville’s defense can take advantage of Florida State’s training wheels without Jordan Travis, or if the Seminoles’ defense will prevail and send FSU to the playoffs remains to be seen — but this remains one of the most interest conference title games to consider when placing your bets for the weekend’s championship slate.

“But this is going to be a fascinating game. It is going to affect everything else,” Staples continued. “I was all set to pick Florida State but you brought up the Brohm thing. I think I’m gonna go with you on this — I think this is Jeff Brohm special. So, I’m going to take Louisville in this game. Florida State may still win, but I have [Louisville] taking the points in this one.”
