ACC Power Rankings updated after Week 11 of college football
The latest ACC Power Rankings are here following Week 11 of college football and a full slate of action, courtesy of the On3 Massey Ratings.
The On3 Massey Ratings – which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated high school sports team rankings since 1995 – rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Let’s dive into the ACC Power Rankings following Week 11 of the college football season.
1. Miami
The Hurricanes suffered their first loss of the season and it came in the ACC. The 28-23 loss to Georgia Tech wasn’t necessarily pretty.
Even Cam Ward couldn’t save Miami this time. He threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns but the team playing dangerously finally caught up.
2. Clemson (+1)
Clemson got back on the winning end of things with a 24-14 victory over Virginia Tech. With that, the Massey Ratings pushed the Tigers up one spot in the ACC this week.
Cade Klubnik threw for 211 yards, three touchdowns and a pick. Phil Mafah was great again, carrying the ball 26 times for 128 yards.
3. SMU (-1)
SMU had the week off and can look at the ACC standings from the top. However, the Mustangs dropped a spot due to the off week.
Still, SMU is unbeaten in ACC play and have three games left against Boston College, Virginia and California. They control their own destiny to win the conference.
4. Louisville
The Cardinals also had a week off and did not shift in the ACC rankings. But, they’re fresh off a 33-21 win over Clemson back on November 2nd.
Coming up next is a road date against Stanford this Saturday before finishing the season against Pittsburgh and Kentucky. They can finish on a hot streak here.
5. Pittsburgh
Speaking of Pittsburgh, the Panthers took a rough loss to Virginia at home. However, they didn’t move in the ACC rankings despite loss No. 2.
Eli Holstein was limited to 10-of-23 passing for 121 yards. Off two losses in a row, Pittsburgh faces a must-win game against Clemson. At one point, this could’ve been the biggest game of the weekend, but Pitt needs it to get back into the top 25.
6. Georgia Tech
Haynes King and Aaron Philo combined for 11-of-16 passing for 109 yards and two touchdowns. That’s it. To be fair, King ran for 93 yards and another score.
Either way, Georgia Tech stayed in the same spot in the ACC with the upset win but became bowl eligible. Massive win with two games left.

7. Duke
How about the Blue Devils? And no, we’re not talking about basketball! This team is 7-3 with two games to play fresh off a win over NC State.
Maalik Murphy threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns. A late fourth quarter surge clinched this game on the road, but Duke stayed in this spot in the ACC.
8. California (+3)
Having lost four of their last five games, Cal needed this one. They won a shootout on the road against Wake Forest and vaulted three spots up in the ACC rankings. Cal is now 5-4.
In the win, Fernando Mendoza threw for 385 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also ran for 51 yards and a score.
9. North Carolina (-1)
The Tar Heels went into a bye week with a win over a fleeting Florida State program and improved to 5-4. They only moved down in the rankings due to the rise of Cal.
UNC will host Wake Forest this weekend before hitting the road to play Boston College. North Carolina also gets to host rival NC State at the end of the year and a bowl game is right within reach.
10. Virginia Tech
The Hokies fell to 5-5 on the season but did not shift in the ACC power rankings. Kyron Drones struggled, throwing for 115 yards and a pick on nine of 20 passing. He only ran for 13 yards.
Collin Schlee didn’t fare much better, throwing for 73 yards, one touchdown and one interception on seven-of-17 passing. Virginia Tech has two games left to win one and become bowl eligible.
